Boeing Defense. Aircraft design never waited on us.
At Boeing Defense a failed system doesn’t cost revenue first — it stops aircraft design, and the mission waits. More than 400 engineers’ work flowed through the engineering application architecture, on programs where the customer was the United States military.
Senior applications architecture for the systems every product and deliverable flowed through: the program of record wired to its source of truth end to end — model-based engineering, the digital twin and thread, simulation run on high-performance Linux clusters, license structures engineered in triads so business continuity survived any single failure. The same digital-thread work informed Boeing Commercial. Advising ran to the C-level, vice presidents, and the CIO — the decisions leadership operated on.
A failed system stopped aircraft design and the mission waited. Under our watch, it never happened. Achieved.
About 70% of what a weapon system costs, it costs after it’s built — GAO’s number, reaffirmed year after year. Sustainment is the whole game, and the architecture held it — the entire time we were there.
First-hand: our figures, from our watch. We were in the room — examine any of them on the call.
