How to tell a wired system from a bought one

Almost every business owns AI now. Subscriptions, logins, a demo that impressed everyone. Owning it is not the same as it working, and there’s a simple way to tell the difference.

A bought system has features. A wired system has a number. So ask three questions of any tool you pay for. One: name the number it moved. Not “it helps with” — name the metric, and show the before. If nobody can, it hasn’t worked yet; it’s just installed software with a bill. Two: turn it off for a week — who notices, and by which Tuesday? A wired system leaves a hole the operation feels. A bought one leaves a login nobody misses. Three: when it’s wrong, who answers? Not “who do we email” — who is accountable for the result it was supposed to produce? If the answer is nobody, you don’t have a system. You have decoration, and decoration with a monthly invoice.

You have decoration, and decoration with a monthly invoice.

For two decades we ran systems where “working” was never a feeling — aircraft programs waited if a system failed; a utility’s operating cost either came out and stayed out, or it didn’t. That’s the standard the three questions come from, and your business deserves it as much as Boeing did.

If the questions came back empty, that’s the call: we find what the operation is losing, and you leave with the way forward — and what staying the same costs, from your own data. Book the call →
